At last got a round to running the duct work from my table saw to the chip collector.

When I opened the access door on the saw I was greeted with this:

(Nothing particularly interesting about a clean saw… Alas that picture wasn’t taken. Maybe after the new port is cut in.)

Still need to cut a larger dust port and run a remote turn on wire for the chip collector. Almost there.

(Took care of the kink after the camera was locked away.)

prevent Xwindow from blanking

sudo nano /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf

In that file, look for:
[SeatDefault]

and insert this line:
xserver-command=X -s 0 dpms

(I’ve only experienced Xwindow blanking with The Raspberry Pi Foundation 7 inch Display.)

=========================

flip lcd display

sudo nano /boot/config.txt

add lcd_rotate=2 to the last line

=========================

Install Kodi in Raspbian
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kodi

=========================

Iceweasel

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install iceweasel

(My primary use of Ice Weasel is for viewing local CCTV cameras.)

openHAB 1.7.1

======================

I have yet to try OpenHab or The Thin client projects.

They both sound promising to me.

As far as I can tell OpenHab functions as an automation layer to your internet of things.

That is until I can get this WordPress site moved to the new server.

No problem at all with the static pages or setting up the new site
PanAm CNC with WordPress.

Not planning to renew any of my urls except mwtrainlayout.com and panamcnc.com.

If I see urls for a buck again I know of one that I’d like to get.
We shall see…

There is still cinema equipment. However a lot of it is gone.

I have been moving some of my stuff over.

When I finally get an electrician that’s actually willing to do the work. I’ll be be able to create lots of groovey stuff.

After much work.

Here are a few photos that I took.

Started…

I was thinking that the rafters for this garage were parallel to the sides. They are on the house end. However where the red strut needs to hang they are perpendicular. So I made some adjustments:
Cut.
strut-day2_02
Deburr.
strut-day2_03
Protect steel from rust.
strut-day2_04
Cut threaded rod to length.

Temperature seemed colder.

Five pieces of threaded rod hanging.

A helper could make this go smoother and quicker.
Oh well. I don’t have one.

Getting ready to hang red strut.

Hung strut

Strut not level yet. Ran out of steam. Tomorrow.
